Grandchamp Tent Rentals takes great care in its treatment of the environment. After all, our business happens outdoors in natural settings. We ensure respect of the environment before, during and after the events we service. Furthermore, we have taken steps to make our processes even more environmentally-friendly.
In accordance with the government agency Recyc-Quebec, we are committed to:
- Conforming to the Quebec Residual Materials Management Policy
- Identifying residual material generated by our business.
- Establishing residual matter management measures according to the 4 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover).
- Instilling this philosophy in our employees and increasing their awareness of policy and practices related to the responsible management of residual matter.
We use a special tent-washing machine which reduces our water use, recuperates grey water and significantly reduces the use of cleaning chemicals.
Many years ago, we stopped shrink-wrapping our products with industrial cellophane or plastic for transit.
We use containers to collect cardboard for recycling
We have purchased a hybrid vehicle as well as new trucks with pollution control devices.
We do a full cleaning of the site after the event. No residual matter is left behind. Floor screws are picked up using a magnetic plate. The screws (thousands of them) are then reused at subsequent events.
We have purchased natural gas heating systems even though this requires us to obtain licenses for the use and manipulation of propane and natural gas from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec. This system is odourless, has no environmental discharge and is more energy-efficient.
If there is to be heating inside the tents, we encourage clients to use glass doors and sealed tent sides in order to reduce energy consumption.
Nature is where we hold our events: it is part of our duty to preserve it. As such, we make sure to leave no environmental footprint behind after our events so that once we’re gone, you can’t even tell that we were there.
