Position: Construction Supervisor (Installation Department)
Immediate supervisor: Operations Supervisor
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work possible
Salary: $35–$40 per hour
THE POSITION:
Proactive and always on the go, you remain organized, meticulous, and able to adapt quickly to the unexpected. You communicate with ease. As a Site Supervisor, you participate in installations while guiding your team through every technical step involved in setting up tents. You serve as the primary point of contact between employees, management, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Rain or shine… the installation goes on. You keep your cool, have a strong spirit, and are in excellent physical shape, which drives you to push past your limits. You manage a team of 8 to 15 people, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met. You plan schedules, evaluate performance, and assign work orders. You ensure the quality and efficiency of the department. You identify problems and propose innovative solutions to resolve them.
What success looks like:
After 3 months ;
After 3 months — A period of settling in and getting the hang of things
• You have gained a clear understanding of the entire installation process and have mastered the tools required for the role.
• You have established an initial rapport with your team as well as with key internal staff members (logistics, quality, maintenance).
• You have begun to identify bottlenecks in the production flow and to develop ideas for improvement.
You’ve successfully integrated into the team when your colleagues see you as someone who is approachable, organized, and inspiring.
After 6 months — Consolidation and operational leadership
• You work independently on standard installations. You have a comprehensive understanding of the overall workflow.
• You plan and coordinate the installation steps.
• You monitor the progress of the work in terms of quantity and quality.
• You are able to respond effectively to unforeseen circumstances while adhering to established priorities.
• You play a key role in motivating employees and demonstrate respected leadership focused on accountability and dialogue.
You are recognized as a driving force for optimization: you move ideas and people forward with rigor and clarity.
After 12 months — Technical expert and catalyst for improvement
• You serve as the department’s technical and interpersonal point of reference. Employees and colleagues turn to you for help in resolving complex issues.
• You collaborate with other departments that impact yours. You have a thorough understanding of cross-departmental workflows.
• You welcome and train new employees.
• You foster a culture of accountability within your team through regular follow-ups, structured feedback, and fair evaluations.
• You maintain team cohesion and operational continuity.
You are no longer just a manager; you have become a strategic pillar, driving evolution and collective engagement.
Qualifications and work experience:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 3 years of experience in personnel management.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field, such as renovation, landscaping, pool construction, general construction, or stage setup.
• Proficiency with computer software. • Willingness to work longer hours during the summer months (May through October).
• Hands-on and resourceful. • Good physical condition and a willingness to work outdoors. • Willingness to travel overnight as needed. • Certification for forklifts and/or aerial work platforms.
• Valid ASP Construction card or commitment to obtain one (training paid for by the company).
• Class 5 driver’s license and ability to drive a 20-foot truck and/or a pickup truck with a trailer.
• Fluency in spoken English (The position requires fluency in English due to collaboration with English-speaking external partners).
• Valid passport or willingness to apply for one (costs covered by the employer) (travel to job sites in the United States may be required).
