YOUR MISSION:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Field Sales Representative primarily serves as a market developer for the company. He or she is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, actively prospecting new clients, and closing sales to support the organization’s growth.
He builds lasting business relationships, guides clients through the sales process, and collaborates with internal teams to offer solutions tailored to their needs.
This position focuses primarily on new business development, prospecting, and opening new accounts. Success in this role depends on the ability to create opportunities, develop a strong business network, and meet established sales targets.
The position involves regular travel outside the office within Quebec, averaging one day per week. Occasional travel outside Quebec is also required to meet with clients, attend industry events, or support business development activities. Some trips may require 2- to 3-day stays away from home.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively prospect for new business: cold calls, field visits, and attendance at construction sites and industry trade shows, both domestically and internationally.
• Develop and maintain a client portfolio on a national and international scale.
• Plan and organize sales development activities independently.
• Prepare bids with the internal team, follow up on them, and resubmit pending proposals.
• Collaborate with internal teams to validate client needs and project feasibility.
• Keep information and opportunities up to date in the company’s CRM.
• Ensure comprehensive follow-up on projects, from prospecting through to project closure.
• Monitor the financial parameters of each project, ensuring compliance with budgets and target margins.
• Collect and track payments as required.
• Participate in the analysis and preparation of requests for proposals.
What does success look like:
After 3 months - Territory mapped out, first doors opened
• You’ve mastered the technical vocabulary related to tents and temporary structures
• You’ve built your list of target accounts and know the key players in your markets
• You’ve completed your first sales call and met your first prospects in person
• You’ve worked with your manager to determine how your time will be divided between Canada, the United States, and Europe
• Your pipeline in HubSpot reflects your activities in the field
Your onboarding is successful when you know exactly who to talk to in your markets, and those people know who you are.
After 6 months — Sales Autonomy
• You generate your own leads without being provided with lists
• You propose customized solutions independently and strategically
• You’re skilled at calculating costs and can quickly assess a project’s feasibility
• You understand the realities of on-site installation, which helps you provide better advice
• You’ve closed your first sales from accounts you opened yourself
You’re recognized as a reliable advisor who is technically adept and strong in customer follow-up.

After 12 months — Product Expertise and Strategic Impact
• Your territories generate a consistent and predictable volume of sales
• You have a thorough understanding of the product, its modularity, and its installation requirements
• You accurately address complex needs while taking all variables into account
• You identify areas for improvement and help optimize our sales practices
You are no longer just a salesperson: you have become Grandchamp’s representative in your markets.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales development or a similar role.
• Bilingualism is essential (spoken and written). The position requires interacting with English-speaking clients or external partners.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally, including to the United States.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for frequent travel.
• Ability to understand technical product specifications and translate them into concrete solutions for clients.
• High degree of autonomy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Ability to develop and maintain long-term business relationships.
• Ability to adapt to different business contexts and a diverse client base.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and business development skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative spirit and ability to work with multiple internal teams.
• Proficiency with IT tools, particularly CRM systems and the Microsoft 365 suite.
• Experience in event planning, equipment rental, construction, or manufacturing (a plus)
• Knowledge of the U.S. or European market or of an international network of rental companies (a plus)
