Position: Maintenance Worker - Handyman

Work schedule: Monday through Friday (daytime)

Salary: starting at $23/hour

THE POSITION:

You’re versatile, hands-on, and self-reliant. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll handle building maintenance, repairs, and workshop projects: preparing materials, maintaining equipment, assembling components, and supporting various operations. You’re comfortable with a variety of tasks, particularly renovation work, and you know how to stay organized and respond quickly to requests that come up throughout the week. Whether dealing with emergencies or scheduled work, you find effective, practical solutions, working just as effectively on your own as you do in collaboration with the team. You provide support to various departments, including, when needed, receiving, sorting, maintaining, and handling rental equipment.

 

 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Oversee general building maintenance.

·        Check the lighting, ensure that restroom facilities and the ventilation system are working properly.

·        Ensure that equipment inspections in the garage are carried out (forklifts, small engines, etc.).

·        Perform various electrical tasks: replace neon lights, light bulbs, etc.

·        Maintain machinery (degreasing, preventive maintenance).

·        Repair and install doors and locks (basic).

·        Install and mount building fixtures (televisions, signs, etc.).

·        Responsible for minor plumbing repairs (clogs, drains, valves, faucets, fixtures, etc.).

·        Inspect building safety.

·        Clear snow and salt walkways and proactively manage risks of slipping, tripping, and falling.

·        Responsible for special cleaning of coffee equipment.

·        Replace filters and perform maintenance on air conditioners.

·        All other related tasks such as minor repairs or other manual work of varying complexity.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in building maintenance

·        Knowledge and skills in manual labor (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting)

·        Proficiency with technological equipment

·        Good physical condition

·        Hold a Class 5 driver’s license

·        Comply with applicable health and safety regulations

·        Be motivated and eager to get involved in projects

·        Sense of urgency and ability to plan
