Position: Team Lead, Production (Vinyl)

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours/day

At Grandchamp, we manufacture all-season tents used throughout North America, right here in our modern factory in Repentigny. Here, we’re a far cry from a noisy “big shop”: the environment is clean, organized, and welcoming. We work as a team in a friendly atmosphere where people talk to one another, help each other out, and take pride in what they make. Since our products are very niche and specialized, we train our employees directly in-house. You don’t need to know anything about vinyl or tents before you start here.

YOUR MISSION:

As a team leader, you are responsible for coordinating the activities of the vinyl department while motivating your team to meet production, quality, and efficiency goals. You play a key role on the shop floor by ensuring that operations run smoothly, communication is clear, and the work environment is positive and structured.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, support, and motivate a team of approximately 5 people on a daily basis
• Plan, organize, and efficiently assign tasks across the various machines
• Forecast raw material needs and ensure efficient production planning
• Follow up on purchase orders with the various internal stakeholders
• Actively participate in the various stages of manufacturing fabrics and components
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least two (2) years of experience supervising or coordinating a team
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret manufacturing instructions
• Proficiency with basic computer tools (Odoo is a plus)
• Inspiring leadership, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills

What does success look like for you:

After 3 months: You understand the overall operations of the vinyl department, including production workflows, priorities, and equipment, and you are able to operate certain machines independently while identifying manufacturing defects. You are able to effectively plan and assign your team’s daily work, clearly communicate instructions, and actively contribute to maintaining a stable and efficient production workflow

After 6 months: You effectively manage multiple production runs simultaneously and rally your team around the goals to be achieved. You actively participate in problem-solving and propose concrete improvements to reduce waste and optimize the department’s operations. You also become a key point of reference for your team and ensure smooth coordination with other departments involved in production.

After 12 months: You have mastered all departmental operations, both in terms of processes and equipment, and are recognized as a key player capable of managing priorities and handling unforeseen issues independently. You actively contribute to your team’s development by mentoring new hires and fostering skill development, while establishing sustainable standards for quality, organization, and continuous improvement.
